On October 5, 2024, the Omega U Program had a Career Readiness presentation by Bro. Gary Smith at Potomac Middle School.

The objective of the presentation is to prepare the young men of the Omega U with the developmental skills of seven (7) C’s to build upon their future goals and daily interactions. Bro. Gary Smith, a U.S. Marine Corp Sergeant Major (Ret), led the leadership discussion, promoting the utilization of effective critical thinking and emphasized the importance of utilizing the 7 C’s during their day-to-day activities within their schools and prospective communities.

Bro. Gary Smith further focused on the essentials required to be a contributing member of society, fostering an understanding of how to serve themselves and those around them best who are counting on their help, support, and stewardship.

Career readiness skills can apply to any job at any company and any level. Even a student’s first job as a grocery store cashier incorporates career readiness principles, just like their career choices in adulthood.

Omega U will continue to provide mentorship to the students in Prince William County, teaching them to strive for more than the boundaries that are set around them.

Bro. Gary Smith speaks to the young men about preparing for their careers as they continue forward with their education.
